Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 16th from 8:30 am until 4 pm. They will receive bell schedule, academic and testing calendar, school floor plan, etc.

The teachers will be there providing the information and they will introduce themselves so you can meet each other.

Dear Students,
Our on-campus dual credit course applications have been started. Please come by and pick up your application packets at the front office. The deadline to turn in your applications is August 3rd. 2018. The university will not accept any applications after August 3rd.

Our annual HSE – Laredo Robotics Summer Bridge Camp will be held on Harmony School of Excellence – Laredo, during the week of July 25 – July 27, 2018 from 9 – 12 PM. Limited spaces available.
Registration fee: $ 20 USD. (Registration does not include food / snack)

TAMIU MSEIP Engineering Program will provide middle and high school students the opportunity to participate in a one-week workshop at TAMIU over the summer.

This first program will take place at Texas A&M International University on June 25th-29th, 2018.

The second program will occur on August 6th-10th, 2018 at Texas A&M International University.

The goal of this program is to enhance the students’ interest in engineering as a potential career, develop middle and high school students’ analytical skills, and help students to prepare for college-level classes through age-appropriate instruction in physics, mathematics and engineering principles.

Dear students and parents,

In our math classes in 8th grade math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebraic Reasoning, Algebra 2, Precalculus, SAT Math, TSI Math Lab, Calculus, College Prep Math, Statistics and Risk Management and other elective high school math courses, we use TI Nspire CX calculators. We provide these calculators to our students during school hours and we exclusively recommend that the students also purchase one for their out of school use. Below is a picture of how these calculators look.

All tests begin promptly at 8:00am. Students who are signed out by parents/guardians after the test has started but not yet finished, will not be able to complete their tests at a later date. Therefore we ask you to consider scheduling any necessary appointments for students on other days, as well as the health and well-being of the student if they are feeling ill on the day of their test. The make-up day for testing will be Wednesday, April 12, 2018. Make-up testing is only for students who are absent on the scheduled day of the test.

All students are expected to be on their best behavior, in proper school uniform (no hoodies, no pull-over sweaters/jackets, no blankets, with shirts tucked in, etc). Students are to leave their belongings (backpacks, chromebooks, all electronic & non-electronic devices (phones, watches, headphones, etc) before going to their testing rooms. Students may only bring their lunch to their testing room if they bring their own lunch to school, a proper book to read after they are finished testing, or work on a teacher-provided test review if they are STAAR testing the following day.

Todas las pruebas comienzan puntualmente a las 8:00 a.m. Los estudiantes que hayan sido suscritos por los padres / tutores después de que la prueba haya comenzado pero aún no haya terminado, no podrán completar sus exámenes en una fecha posterior. Por lo tanto, le pedimos que considere la posibilidad de programar cualquier cita necesaria para los estudiantes en otros días, así como la salud y el bienestar del estudiante si se sienten enfermos el día de la prueba. Harmony Gifted & Talented Education

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.

Nomination forms are available at the front office, or may be downloaded below. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 9, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.

Harmony staff, teachers, and administrators have spent countless of hours preparing our students for college and each year approximately 85% of our graduating class enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

But, despite these impressive enrollment numbers, far too many of our low income and first-time college students drop out as they hit financial and circumstantial barriers such as the cost of attending college, that has increased by 36% in the last 10 years. Harmony Public Schools has 5,033 graduates to date and is projected to have 11,686 graduates by 2020, current funding sources are unable to meet even the current demands of these programs. Clearly, additional financial support is required.

We are asking our Harmony community to consider going beyond educational efforts, providing even greater assistance to our graduates through generous Harmony Giving Day contributions to the Harmony College Fund. All your donations will go towards helping our Harmony graduates to complete their higher education dreams and achieve their career aspirations by providing additional scholarships and direct college and career support services.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey on the families of Houston, the Texas Department of Agriculture is allowing school districts located in counties declared a disaster area to serve ALL students (regardless of eligibility) a free breakfast and lunch until September 30th, 2017. Our school will be participating in this initiative, so we are pleased to provide your children a free breakfast and lunch thus allowing parents to focus on their recovery process.

If you have been displaced as a result of the hurricane or resulting flooding, please contact the school Lunch Clerk. Your child may qualify for free meals for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year if he or she meets the state requirements. Should you have questions or need additional information; please contact your child’s school.
